Play It Safe Forum 2 August 2012

August 3, 2012

Gympie was treated to a special day last Thursday (August 2) as over 600 producers, general public and Nolan Meats Team Members attended the ‘Play it Safe’ Forum, an initiative of Nolan Meats.
It coincided with our 30 year association with the Gympie District Beef Liaison Group and the 25th year of the Gympie Carcass Classic.

When first conceived, The Play It Safe Forum presented a number of challenges for us as we thought to ourselves, how do we make this safety message appealing enough to have people want to attend, engaging enough to maintain the target audience’s interest for the day and resonate sufficiently that people would talk about it and implement their new found knowledge when returning to their workplaces and homes. To our amazement we recorded a total of 618 guests attend the day. We have received nothing but positive feedback post the event. Numerous producers have endorsed the need for improvements in their operations.

The day consisted of six concurrent sessions, three concurrent production focused stations and a variety of keynote speakers, all of which shared their wisdom with world-class performances.

Our aim for the event was for it to deliver a strong safety message to our community, suppliers and staff about safety and to also thank our many local suppliers with a ‘gift’ in the form of a message that may protect their well-being, prevent an accident or encourage them to do something to live longer and more safely.
We believe this aim was resoundingly achieved.

Thank you to all who attended the day, on behalf of all at Nolan Meats we hope you had a pleasant and informative day.
All presentations were recorded so, if you missed the event, some of the sessions, or would like to view the presentations again, please follow the link
