On the 17th March at the Coolum Bowls Club on the Sunshine Coast, some of the Nolan Meats team were invited to assist in judging the Sunshine Coasts best sausages in the Sausage King Competition.
The National Sausage King competition is held every year for Australian Meat Industry Council Members. The competition focuses on bringing butchers from different regions together allowing them to showcase what they do best.
With six different categories of sausages, deciding on the eventual winners was no easy task. The winning sausages had two major criteria to meet, their visual appearance both cooked and uncooked, and the palatability including the aroma, texture and flavour.
Nolan Meats would like to congratulate our Sunshine Coast customers for their Sausage King wins.
Buderim Meat Hall, Buderim – winner of the Traditional Australian Sausage Category
Bli Bli Butchery, Bli Bli – winner of the Australian Lamb/Open Class Sausage Category with their “Lamb, Sundried Tomato and Basil†sausages
Dicky Beach Meats, Dicky Beach – winner of the Gourmet/Open Class Sausage Category with their “Pumpkin, Fetta and Shallots†sausages
